It's all a question of point of view

Rumilly MASIALA
Organic
Born in Kinshasa, where he lives and works, Rumilly Masiala is a Congolese multidisciplinary artist whose practice is guided by his deep aspirations. A graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts in Kinshasa, he also enriched his career by training with great Masters of contemporary Kinshasa art. This proximity has allowed him to develop a polysemic approach, focused on the social realities of his environment, thus reflecting the complexity of the context in which he evolves.
Artistic approach
His main working instrument, which gives him a unique and immediately recognizable style, is the intestinal enema bulb. This object has a strong symbolic charge for him, because he uses it in homage to his mother, who courageously used it to treat her illness when he was a child. The enema bulb has thus become, for him, the symbol of healing and a central element of his work.
